The city and its surrounding area also form the Nairobi County. The name “Nairobi” comes from the Maasai phrase Enkare Nyrobi, which translates to “cold water”, the Maasai name of the Nairobi river, which in turn lent its name to the city.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Animal orphanage “ Giraffe Centre “ Bomas of Kenya Animal Orphanage
After breakfast, our adventure begins from our hotel as we go to visit the animal orphanage. Nairobi National Orphanage is a wider part of the Nairobi National Park “ the first to be established in East Africa. The park makes Nairobi a special capital as it is the only city in world where wild animals live naturally in the wild transforming Nairobi into Africas prime safari capital. Nairobi Animal Orphanage, which was established in 1964, as a refuge for wild animals found abandoned, orphaned or injured throughout Kenya. The aims of the orphanage were to release the animals into the wild whenever possible, provide conservation education to Kenyans and visitors from all over the world.
Wildlife available includes Lion, cheetah, hyena, jackal, serval, very rare sokoke cats, warthog, ostrich, leopard, various monkeys, baboon and buffalo. Birds include Parrot, guinea fowl, crown crane etc From there we shall proceed to Giraffe Centre

From there we shall proceed to Giraffe Centre. The giraffe center is a wonderful and refreshing experience undertaken during a tour Nairobi. The tour gives a completely up close and personal interaction where guests have the opportunity to view giraffes as well as feed them. The African Fund for Endangered Wildlife Kenya (A.F.E.W. Kenya) also known as the Giraffe Center is a non-governmental, non-profit making organization, which was founded by Betty and Jock Leslie-Melville in 1979. We shall have lunch the proceed to Bomas of Kenya

Bomas of Kenya
This tour focuses mainly on Kenyas rich culture where the 42 different tribes of the country are exhibited through dance, songs and homesteads. The tribal cultural shows start everyday from 2.30pm -4.00pm and display tribal talent in music, dance, theatre/drama, fashion show, poetry/recitals, comedies, sports and games, exhibitions, seminars, beauty contests and body building. Breakfast, Dinner and over night at booked Hotel

Day2: David Sheldrick “ Mamba Village “ Kazuri Beads.

This day we shall depart from our hotel at 1000hrs and head to David Sheldrick. Its a world“ class conservation figure and the premier authority on the successful raising of milk“ dependent infant elephant and rhino orphans. David Sheldrick’s Animal Orphanage, can be only be visited for an hour every day between 11am and noon. During this hour the baby elephants are brought out to play and to feed, and visitors can watch them from behind a rope. Wardens are on hand to explain the work of the orphanage, narrate the story behind each elephants existence in the orphanage and answer any questions you may have.

Mamba Village
Here we shall have lunch then take a walk as we view the crocodiles, other activities offered here include; Camel, Horse, Boat Riding, Ostrich Park and Bird watching trail. Then we shall go to Kazuri Beads. Here you can buy souvenirs made of beads and have a walk in work shop to see how these gorgeous ornaments are made. In the evening you head back to the hotel for dinner. Breakfast, Dinner and overnight at booked Hotel.

Day 3: Nairobi
After breakfast go for your final shopping during the day and a city tour before your departure, then transfer to the airport.
End of safari!!
